Nokia 808 PureView And Other Belle FP2 Smartphones Getting Gallery And CameraUpdate

With launch of the new Lumia devices and those cheap feature phones packing many amazing features many forgot about the first smartphone powered by PureView technology. Moreover, many even don’t remember there is another mobile operating system Nokia is working on. Probably, the mobile world wants to bury Symbian platform a day before the air, but this OS is alive, and those smartphones that run on it now are getting a new update made to improve the Gallery and Camera.

Of course, the most popular Symbian-packed device is the Nokia 808 PureView with its 41MP camera, but there is also the Nokia 701, which should be mentioned when it comes to getting new system updates. So all those Symbian phones now can download the “Gallery and Camera update.” It’s 2MB in size, and 5 minutes will be enough for going into SW Update on the device and downloading it.

The update promises “improved Gallery and benefit from multiple image sharing feature. This update also includes usability and quality improvements for both Gallery and Camera.” If this doesn’t disclose what enhancements your phones will get, read the changelog  below:

  • multi-select photos and share them to Facebook, Flickr or Twitter
  • multi-select photos and email them en-masse to specific recipients
  • long press a photo from the main gallery thumbnail view, to send, share or delete it
  • in the Camera application, access the general Preferences from the info pane in any shooting mode (e.g. Auto or Scenes).

Though these extra multi-select abilities are what we have been waiting for, there’s still no explicit folder/organizational system beyond the date dividers.
