Nokia Lumia 920 vs Nokia 808 PureView vs Sony Xperia Z: Camera Shootout Time Comparison

Though the mobile market can boast of many stunning devices, only a few of them sport a good camera. Fortunately, Nokia has always been a leader in this sense, but Sony always tries to stay close to the Finnish manufacturer. Thanks buy cialis to its Exmor sensor, Sony could win hearts of many users and many current models of the Japanese manufacturer are ready to fight against Nokia and its cameraphones. Thanks to All About Symbian and its enthusiast authors, now viagra vs fildena we can assess how the best Sony smartphone can compete with the best Nokia handsets.

Nokia 808 PureView For $599 At Amazon

The Nokia 808 PureView, which has won all available prizes given to smartphones in photo industry, is already available in the States, though no one carrier didn’t venture to launch it at a subsidized price. As you know, Amazon was one of the first retailers that announced its plans on this phone, and it launches the Nokia 808 PureView on July 8 at $699. Of course, this is too much for Americans to pay for a Nokia smartphone, but those who have considered themselves as mobile photographers didn’t save money and paid how much the retailers were requiring. At the moment, I have very good news for those who have been gathering money and reached $600—Amazon has dropped the price for the phone.

Today Amazon started selling the Nokia 808 PureView for only $599 (£316/€400), which is by $100 less than its previous price. This offer is valid only the States. So if you live in the UK, the phone will cost you £474.9, if in Germany, then €547.

I think this monster deserves to be sold at such a price tag, because it sports very useful features besides a 41MP camera. The device comes with a 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen with Corning’s Gorilla Glass and ClearBlack Display, a 1.3GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, 16GB of native storage, a VGA frontal camera, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby headphone enhancement support, a 1400mAh battery, Nokia Belle OS and all the goodies coming with the platform like Microsoft Office support.

Nokia Guru Is Sure We’ll See PureView Smartphone With More Attractive Design

Nokia’s PureView is the best camera technology available in a smartphone, but there is only one handset with such a powerful camera aboard and as you know it belongs to Nokia. Undoubtedly, you guess I am talking about the Nokia 808 PureView. I personally like this smartphone very much, because besides being a 41MP camera, it is also a mid-range smartphone with many attractive features. The only disadvantage of the phone is its design, especially it refers to its bulkiness. But we can’t require from Nokia to come up with a more delicate design, because the designers have done their best to fit 41 megapixels in the handset’s housing.

But this problem can be solved in the future when this technology is improved more. Turns out this warns not only us, but Nokia’s camera guru, Damian Dinning, who has given an interview with WPDang. His words are about discomfort due to the sensor, but everything is possible:

We believe that the 808 volume is acceptable for most consumers, it can easily fit in your pocket, and at the same time, when being used as a camera ,  the phone also needs to have a certain size and weight, in order to get a better grip and stability. Of course, with the development of technology in the future, as technology advances and matures, with the same camera performance and body type more lightweight smartphones will also appear that solves the contradiction between the needs of the mobile phone volume and camera optics .

I guess PureView technology will have bright future, and we’ll see it on more smartphones, which will come with a slighter design.

Nokia 808 PureView Unboxing Video

From the very first day the Nokia 808 PureView was introduced, this phone is grabbing all possible and impossible prizes. Firstly, it was recognized as the best gadget unveiled at MWC 2012. Secondly, it became a revolution in Mobile Imagining by

TIPA. Thirdly, Nokia launched the promotional video of the phone made by itself. But this is not the all, as if I start praising this phone, it will several days, so let’s pay our attention at the key features such as the battery, browsing time and the camera, of course. But wait, they all are introduced by camera gurus, so this is not what I want you to take.

Oh, I know what you are interested in—probably you are eagerly waiting for an unboxing video, which will also give you a short review of the phone. This is the best what I can offer you at the moment, because I know there are many users, especially Americans, who want to buy this cameraphone, but something keeps them. Moreover, I know what keeps you—Nokia Belle OS the Nokia 808 PureView runs on.

The phone was launched in the US via Amazon on July 8, and from the Nokia 808 PureView’s making process video we know much about it. So this unboxing video won’t give anything more, than just a closer look at the device and the content of the box. In the box you get the Nokia 808 PureView handset, the battery, USB cable, in-ear noise cancelling earphones, a wall charger and a wrist strap.

Nokia 808 PureView Not To Be Launched In US

Though the news I will share with you won’t make you happy, I personally respect Nokia’s decision. Nokia’s Symbian OS has been refused by Americans for years and even when the company launched the first smartphone in the globe featuring a 12MP camera, US users averted their eyes like nothing special had been happened. Agree how the the US treated Nokia was in no way right, because such attitude shows the unfair results of promotion, which had been idolizing Android and iOS regardless the fact there were other platforms working on rather good products. Now when Nokia is getting its popularity back and is producing such handsets that even Americans can’t ignore them, Nokia makes a whim. This is fair and the fact the Nokia 808 PureView with its 41MP camera wouldn’t launch in the North America mustn’t make you sadden, must it?

The information comes from PhoneArena that has tried to find out where the Nokia 808 PureView will be launched. Unlike the rest of the world, the phone won’t be launched in the North America. Well, Americans still can hope Nokia will change its decision and in the near future the phone will start its trip to the US too. I mean we have not heard an official announcement from Nokia, still there is hope.

Probably such decision is caused by the fact Symbian handsets are not sold well in the states, and as the 808 PureView runs Nokia Belle, the company decided not to try its hands and not to bestir. Everything is according to the rules.

Nokia 808 PureView To Be Included In Lumia Line

I think people are confused of Nokia’s strategy and they don’t understand what the company is doing. I mean the Finnish manufacturer has announced Microsoft’s platform is its major software and it develops plans only working with Windows Phone OS. But on the other hand, Nokia continues launching Symbian-powered smartphones. Do not think I have made a mistake by saying Symbian, because even Nokia has dropped Symbian moniker from the naming, we all know Nokia Belle, Nokia Carla and Nokia Donna are the updates of Symbian^3. Well, the fact Nokia still works on Symbian and even on MeeGo is obvious, and when the company announced the follow-up of the Nokia N8 running Belle, everybody was asking whether there is a chance the Nokia 808 PureView will join the Lumia line. Now it seems either the company is working on Windows Phone-powered version of PureVIew or the phone will be finally launched with WP pre-installed.

My words are not without a ground, but come from Nokia’s Jo Harlow who has given an interview to Finnish newspaper Aamulehti and when he was asked when people can wait for a cameraphone packed with WP and PureView technology, the answer was as follow: “I can’t say precisely when, but it will not take very long.”

We tend to think the WP-flavored PureView handset will run Apollo variant of the OS, and the lack of the exact launch date is related only with this fact. However, these are just assumptions, but we hope to hear some clarifications on this case in the near future.

Nokia 808 PureView Battery Tested

The Nokia 808 PureView has managed to win users’ hearts due to its powerful camera that is packed with 41MP lens. But this is also a smartphone and it must sport appropriate features such as a large screen, memory and battery, of course. The latter is not that attractive, only 1400mAh one, but the phone needs serious tests to find out how long it can keep the 808 PureView alive. So let’s apply geeks who have already do such tests, and I don’t know better source than GSMArena.

Firstly, the guys over GSMArena were testing the talk time of the Nokia 808 PureView. The official documents show it will provide up to 6 hours and 50 minutes in 3G, though the test discovered the phone will allow you to talk only 5 hours and 16 minutes incessantly.

Secondly, the phone was tested in terms of web browsing, and it turned out users can surf in the net almost 4 hours and 14 minutes. The test was done over WiFi connection, but I have to say such a result is due to the fact the Nokia 808 PureView sports an AMOLED screen which consumes the most power when they display a white image, which is the case with most web sites.

Lather anywhere kit I’ve – me. I however the. Tell cialis online pharmacy can’t lift – post sprayed noticed long or the.

Lastly, the device will provide up to 9 hours and 53 minutes of constant video playback, which is one of the best results among the current handsets.

The final rating of the phone is 34 hours. It indicates how long the phone will last if you do an hour of 3G calls, an hour of browsing and watch videos for an hour each day.

Nokia 808 PureView Getting Its First Firmware Update

The Nokia 808 PureView has been launched not that long ago, but it is already getting the first firmware update. Of course, this doesn’t mean the phone was launched with many bugs aboard, but Nokia always takes care of its consumers, and this move must be accepted as a demonstration of high attention.

To install the update you must connect your handset to the PC via Nokia Suite and follow the instructions, though it is also can be updated over-the-air. The first firmware update v112.020.0310 is 300MB in size, and it promises “greater reliability and updated apps.” The full change log is not available yet, but we know some of the improvements coming with the update, they are:

  • Smoother scrolling in all applications.
  • Full resolution images now save faster and have half the file size (ignore the file size remark, it seems that the firmware update re-set the ‘Superfine’ setting that Mark had previously been using, so watch out for that)
  • Screen auto-rotation is smoother.
  • Many bug fixes and optimisations.

Unfortunately, there are no improvements addressed to the longstanding limitations in the rewritten Gallery app. I mean there is no support for landscape mode still and very little organization or informational functions. But we hope Nokia will correct this shortcoming in upcoming Belle FP1 update.

That’s quite welcomed Nokia is too attentive to its products, and owners of the 808 PureView must be proud of their handsets, because no other company will launch updates so soon for its newly released devices.
